Oh those troubling situations and comments that make you wonder if hi/she/they just refered to captial letter T, or something completely different. Usually you get “phew” after few more comments.
Love the symbolism of this strip. Life is full of gatekeepers who you need to pass.
Oh great, her passport has the wrong gender marker somewhere doesn’t it?
She sorted her passport out quite awhile back and does have the correct gender marker now: http://www.validationcomic.com/comic/validation-248/
Well, that was really…. Strange…
Yea can’t tell if he’s being an asshole or just been at this job for to long
Toš, from what I’ve heard (Rachel Nabors case) it’s probably a bit from both
Seemed weirder than any Heathrow border control I’ve done, haha
IS the gender marker on her passport male?
Noe, several stris ago, she recieved her new passport 😉
My bet is the customs agent is looking at her age and thinking she’s too old to be “wasting her life and money on kids’ stuff”
I like that theory the best! It’s always fun when the problem turns out to be something that has nothing to do with what you feared.
It almost looks like he’s examining her throat for an Adam’s apple in panel 1.
You think so? As for me it looks like he gaze at her passport..
Got my own theory based on election results… aka, Why WOULDN’T you be here looking for work
But then, my knowledge of the comic’s timeline isnt that great
I’d imagine this isn’t set in the context of the US election – it’s likely set at an unspecific time, broadly contemporaneous with now-ish.
I don’t know if Christian has a specific con in mind, but there are three separate big Comic Cons in London – the MCM London Comic Con (held at ExCeL, near London City Airport, the O2 Arena [formerly the Millennium Dome] and the Thames Barrir, on the last weekends in May and October) and the London Film and Comic Con (held in July, the exact weekend seems to vary each year, now hosted in Olympia, Kensington – about a mile West of Hyde Park / 1½ miles West of the Natural History and Science museums, 2 miles West of Harrod’s).
Very cool… 😛 I was just tossing around bias, but now I have a list of the major Cons in London. SCORE 😀 😉
I gotta say, “Deadpan Dan” looks a bit like Peter Capaldi, AKA the 12th Doctor!
