He is crushing so hard! I really want to see him tell her how he feels. I’m glad he didn’t grab her hand though, as consent is important for romantic touching and there are so many ways that could become awkward for both of them! Just get a chance to talk to her alone and tell her!
And by that I mean in regards to him almost holding her hand, not to being first comment… I hate that the internet makes me feel its necessary to specify that 🙁
All I can say is I am expecting some “nice guy” shenanigans from him. I don’t trust him. I foresee him getting rejected then puling the “but I’m nice you stupid ____” card. Then, I just don’t trust men.
It makes me sad as a cisgender guy that whenever a cisgender male character shows up there’s always comments with people saying they expect the worst from them. I don’t say that makes me sad in a “poor me” way either, it clearly reflects negative experiences people have had in the past and it’s terrible so many people have experienced things that cause them to think like this.
He hasn’t done anything to raise suspicion at this point, and his interest seems genuine. Obviously, things can change, but as a straight (transgender) man, I can say that even though there are a lot of bad eggs, I think that a lot of us genuinely are interested in and respect women as complex human beings – therein lies the attraction. So, @Gtellem, I agree with what you’ve said above, but that’s part of why it is so, so important for men to be vocal advocates for gender equity and against violence against women – how can we possibly expect any woman to really feel safe when often, they are not? Irrespective of dating prospects, everyone deserves to be treated with respect, and when it does come to dating, until an equal and equally safe society is achieved, there’s no option but to accept some of the suspicion we evoke.

Gah! So close!

I understand what you mean 🙂
Bring him back a bag of Jelly Babies.

Honestly, same for me. I just get a bad vibe from him.
I don’t trust men either but I think these 2 would make a really cute couple so I hope you’re wrong about him 😛
